Happy Birthday today to John Michael Montgomery (44) who was born on this day in Daneville, KY. John was master of the 90's Country ballads: "I Swear" , "I Can Love You Like That" and "I Love The Way You Love Me." In 1968 Merle Haggard hit #1 on the Billboard chart with "Sing Me Back Home." In 1989 Country stars The Oak Ridge Boys, Crystal Gayle, Moe Bandy, Steve Wariner, Lee Greenwood, Randy Travis and Loretta Lynn perform at President George Bush's Inauguration. In 1973, Jerry Lee Lewis appeared on the Grand Ole Opry and broke the two rules: no swearing and no rock n' roll.
